Paint Valley is the
working studio of watercolor artist Don Weisgarber. The original
watercolors, limited edition prints, prints, and miniature prints are
on display in a 19th century log home that has been restored to its
original rustic condition. Built in the 1830's, the "Weinsburg House"
as it was then called, was once a two-story log hotel that also served
as a tavern and residence for one of Winesburg's early settlers. Even
now, though the modern world has made its way to Winesburg, the sounds
of rattling wagons and clopping horses can be heard outside the
gallery door, as the local Amish come into the village.
Inside the gallery, a
visitor will usually find the artist busy at work on his latest
watercolor. The walls are filled with framed original paintings and
prints, with prices ranging from $45 for a framed 9x12 inch painting
to $180 for the most popular size, a framed 16x20 inch painting.
Limited edition prints can be bought either matted or matted and
framed for prices ranging between $22 and $75. Miniature prints are
available for only $12 including the 5x7 inch frame.
A selection of fine
crafts is also available. The crafts are hand made by local artisans
and include wood crafts, dolls, baby blankets, and toys. All crafts
and art pieces are made in the USA, and the watercolor frames are
made locally. To see the original watercolors, the crafts, the limited

the left will show you what prints are available for purchase through
the mail, and will give you an idea of what's available at the
gallery. If you like the painting style and the quality of
workmanship, you may want to consider commissioning the artist to
paint something just for you.
